The boyfriend finally met the family tonight!

I think it went well! Although they didn’t say anything about him to me after he left, so I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing…

Oh well, glad it finally happened :)

When my mom tells me my little sister is getting teased/picked on and crying about it, it kills me inside.

She’s only 10. I remember those days, those were the worst times of my life. I just wish I could be there for her, but beating up every girl that picks on her won’t really get me anywhere (other than maybe arrested).

And parents are telling my mom “Just wait, girls are mean.” No, not every girl is mean. I think if you teach your child about bullying and what not, they won’t feel the need to pick on others. My mom actually used me as an example, she told me she said to them:

“Caron was new in 7th grade. She was thrown into a new middle school, and ya know what? She didn’t have a problem, she got along with everyone.”

And she was right. After years of being teased at an old school, we moved and I got a fresh start. I deserved it.

I need to sit down with my little sister and tell her what’s up. It’s not worth crying over. People are gonna suck. It’s life. But you can be the better person. The people who do that to you aren’t your friends (trust me, I’ve learned that quite well). Just be nice to everyone, even your enemies. It’ll kill them and you’ll be the one with all the friends.

Bullying is something that really hits home, and when it involves my family it hits me hard. I never want to see my little sister like that. I hope she realizes what a great person she is and will be.
